Application
& Usage
How much
crème is applied?
Normal usage is between 1/8 tsp. (10mg progesterone) to 1/2 tsp.
(40 mg progesterone). Apply to areas of the body high in capillary
concentration such as chest, wrist, neck, throat, face, palms of
hands and soles of feet, rotating the application periodically.
For best results, apply to moistened skin.
It is recommended
that these application sites be rotated every four days to assure
best absorption. Best results will be obtained if applied to warm,
moist skin after a shower or bath. The heat helps to open up the
pores for most efficient absorption. It is recommended that you
wait at least 15 to 20 minutes before applying other lotions, crèmes,
or make-up to allow the absorption of the crème into the
tissues first without any interference from any other topical crèmes
or lotions.
Pre-menopausal
Women (Peri-menopausal):
Count the beginning of your period as Day 1, start application on
Day 12 and continue for 14 days. If your cycle is longer, you may
want to continue until Day 28. If your period begins before it normally
would, stop using the crème and begin counting up to Day
12 and start use again. Women concerned with birth control often
start on Day 8 of their cycle.
Menopausal
Women not receiving estrogen:
You have a wider choice in your timing. You might want to base your
use on the calendar month and apply the crème for 25 days,
then discontinue until the next month. If your symptoms are severe,
use a higher dosage and then gradually decrease. It is important
to take a few days off each month.
Menopausal
Women taking an estrogen supplement:
Many physicians recommend that estrogen supplements should be reduced
by one-half when starting progesterone. Women may choose to establish
a goal of eliminating synthetic estrogen entirely. If this is done
it should be accomplished over a three to six month period under
the consultation of a personal physician.
Every body is
different and some women will require more crème to alleviate symptoms
while others will need less. The correct amount for one is not necessarily
the right amount for another. Some experimentation may be needed
to determine the appropriate amounts per ones individual needs.
Some women will notice results right away while others who's own
Progesterone is severely depleted may take one to three months for
significant changes to occur.
